Hi Bloggies!

Now I dont usually ever post anything like this but this is very important to me and is a great cause.

I am a CrossFitter and CrossFit every year puts on a Fight Gone Bad event for lost and wounded worriers. This is a 17 minutes of pure hell and pain that we dedicate to the men and women who fight for our lives and safety everyday. We endure this 17 minutes because they and their families go through so much pain. The loss of a loved one, the wounded, the children left behind. Our 17 minutes is nothing compared to what they have to endure.

The money donated goes to wounded and lost soldiers families. Every penny counts so please help donate. This link is to my brothers page. I do not have a page but I am still donating and completing the workout. Please pass along this message and look into your change box for a few pennies or dollars.

I am a complete photo nerd. Anything photography and I am all over it. So when I saw this D.I.Y I had to take a moment to myself and nerd out. I am totally going to try this but haven't decided what color I want to use. I have tons of old film so all I need is the textile dye.

These pie pops are so cute ♥ swoon
I love to bake but don't do it much anymore because I don't eat processed food. Trying to stay healthy and fit with my CrossFit training. I am definitely going to try these those for the next get together.

I love to sew. Although I am still not fantastic at it I still like to get my practice in with new projects and this Circle Wrap Skirt is on my to-do list. It is so cute and can be made in so many different fabrics. Fabulous

This is such a great up-cycle project. Super easy and functional D.I.Y belt made from old t-shirts.

Obsessed...

Holy sweet baby cheeses it's been a long time since I did one of these! I have to hand it to The Monster for keeping this blog humming when I get off track.
Okay, on to another obsession of mine...Peacock, like, everything! I even love the actual birds. The sound they make reminds me of the jungle and Gilligan's Island.

I think single peacock feathers as a tattoo are so beautiful and they make a huge impact. Like this one, I love the colors!
(I must say though, that lady's face in the background is pretty priceless)

Peacock nails! I liked a lot of the ones I found, but this one had a tutorial with the colors she used! I also feel like I could do this one because, I do not have the patience to do detail work.

So, like many other bloggers, I also have a film camera and use it often. But my camera has been wonky and has been eating my film. I have tried just about everything to fix it and mess with it but cant get it to wind and unwind properly, plus it pulls the exposures leaving me with weird photos. Take a look

Here are a few pics that came out ok/interesting

I still love playing with my camera even if I only get a few shots out of it. Film is always a nice alternative to the digital world.

The Monster & Me have been very busy this weekend

Friday we went to the Etsy Party Hosted by Amy / IndieSacramento

Amy really is the Hostess with the Mostess and she knows how to throw a party! i.e Amyistheparty ;)

There was a ton of swag and cute everything. The raffle was full of Martha Stewart items and the tables were decorated with happy vintage fabric and sweet little decorations.

Everyone brought craft items that they no longer used/needed and everyone swapped supplies. I got some super cute fabric that I will probably hoard because I dont like sharing. haaha.

Saturday was the GETty Crafty Event at Fremont Park in downtown Sacramento

Our table was stocked with new monsters and other goodies

Our chairs got a happy summery makeover

We shared a booth with Jaymi who is one of our awesome crafty friends and is also the owner of Cooo. Super cute headbands ♥

And of course the one and only Mornings On Fire were our booth neighbors. You can never have a bad time with Cassie and Daniel around.

On the other side of us was the always lovely Lauren Smash! She makes the cutest stuff. (I am jealous of her awesomeness)

Sac Tweet Up @ Blue Cue

Last night was the epitome of social entertainment.

If you are local and have not heard of Sac Tweet Up, then you need to check it out.

"The SacTweetup is a non-stuffy networking mixer that we started back in 2009 to get people that were connecting online… offline. Pretty simple idea right?" -Alejandro Reyes

200 people registered for this event and Blue Cue rocked the house! This was our second tweet up and we met tons of people! Check out some pics

So friday night Kristin and I dressed up like pirates and attended the Pirates themed bar crawl.

So Cassidy posted about herself, so now I guess it's my turn. Here goes nothin'...

I prefer my pizza room temperature
I love the beach
I love to swim, and be in the water
I touch people a lot and I like to be touched…No! Not in a gross way! Things like hugs, and having my hair played with, and holding hands and cuddling. Ask Monster, she hates it!
I have a paper problem, my boyfriend calls it hoarding. I like to print stuff out because I want to read it or I read it and liked it, but then it ends up getting piled up.
I loooove to read, sometimes it doesn’t even matter what it is, I could read the cereal box.
I am a total cereal killer, I could eat it for breakfast, lunch, and dinner and never get sick of it.
I wish I sat up more straight (I try, but I always forget)
I collect old, ugly things. I have a huge collection of kitschy mushroom stuff from the 70’s and I even bought a huge velvet painting of a Pegasus.
I still have no clue what I want to do with my life
I’m not from here, I was born and raised in Maryland
I hope to own a farm one day with a lot of animals
My boyfriend talked me into doing Crossfit with him, but I secretly love it. Okay, I don’t love it when I feel like I’m dying, but I think you get the idea.
I want to get a bunny, like right now, but I have to finish re-doing the craft room before that happens
My favorite color is purple
I tie my shoes like a 5 year old, really. I must be the only one besides actual 5 year olds because EVERYONE comments on it, seriously.
I love to take pictures and make stuff...well that one is kind of obvious.
I like sarcasm and stupid smart jokes the best.
I am a smart ass
I am 26
I have a dog, and he is my child.

I have a serious sweet tooth.

I am 23ish

♥ I love to drink tea and coffee, I am usually at It's A Grind Coffee House on saturday mornings

♥ I have two cameras and probably a third by the end of the year.

♥ I love tattoos, I have a giant dragonfly on my side/back and I am getting another tattoo on June 2nd! Super excited
♥ I am going to school for criminal justice and am hoping to some day be an emergency safety dispatcher.
♥ I like to karate chop people, ka-ka!

May Upcoming Events...

Here are some things we have planned for this month; come out, have fun, stalk us, say hi, we’re nice, swear!

This Saturday, May 14 we will be at the Midtown Bazaar on the corner of 16th and I street. We’ll be sharing a booth again with our buddy Cassie of Mornings on Fire. It’s so much fun to have other people there to laugh and hang out with!

Friday May 20 we will be dressing in our puffy shirts and best swashbuckling gear for the Pirates and Scallywags barrrrr crawl put on by Cassie and Daniel. It starts at the Golden Bear, be there or be square!

Tuesday May 24 is the Sac Tweet-up at Blue Cue in Midtown. I’m really enjoying these events because we seem to meet more and more awesome people every time. Alejandro does a great job putting these events together!

Well that covers all of the "official" stuff we have planned, but this month also includes movie dates with family, giving blood, and a spa day. So excited! I feel like everything is more alive as it gets warmer, even our social calendar!

My name is Lee Lee, I run a brand called Just Because by Lee Lee where I make accessories and sell online and in craft shows. I graduated from Fashion Design almost 2 years and I have a regular job as a marketing assistant in an office from 8-5pm. I get design freelance job here and there plus I am so into this blogging thing participating in lots of fun projects, so yeah my life is a little hectic and I am in need of a 2 month vacation starting next month!

I am from Cartagena, Colombia - a tropical paradise- the thing is I am not into the beach or the sun... too bad I am currently also live in Miami, FL.. I like it here though, but don't go to the beach and I stay away from the sun! Cartagena is a beautiful city, very relaxing, I have all my friends and family, is where I call home.

Weekend Recap

Easter Weekend!

We had Easter brunch at our house this year, so evvvveryone came over on Sunday.

We did an egg hunt, ate tons of food, covered the patio with chalk art, blew giant bubbles, and jump roped, even double dutched! It was fun.

I took almost 600 pictures sunday alone, but heres a few to peek at

On Saturday we had Easter with Jaymi and her family. Amy and Lauren were there too. We had a blast.

Davis Picnic Day

Saturday was the 97th annual UC Davis Picnic Day

This was our first time going to the picnic and when we got there we were blown away.

UC Davis is a big campus, so there was plenty of room for booths and events to take place.

After we walked around for a bit, we set up our picnic by the dog events. Of course, because we loooooove puppies.

They had Frisbee contests and sheep herding, and dog races, all full of cuteness.

We visited this very BIG newfounland, he was so slobbery that he had to wear a bib. ♥

I was keeping my face out of the sun while also sporting this feather clip from Morning's on Fire. Who we met up with later on in the day!

Ohlow!

Here in the downtown Sacramento area, we have a town event, "Second Saturday" Tons of art, discounts, people, and of course crafty awesomeness.

This past Saturday The Monster and Me teamed up with Mornings On Fire and we made fabulous booth partners.

The weather was perfect and there was a great turn out. Tons of different booths and a good amount of people walking around the area.

Last night we went to De' Vere's Irish Pub on L and 15th for Sacramento's Tweet Up.

Family Tree

Have you ever researched and created your family tree?

Well that's what I have been working on the past week or so. I have been using www.Ancestry.Com and I have been finding some really great stuff. Old paperwork, news articles, marriage certificates. It's amazing.

But now, I'm stuck, I cant find much information on my dads side of the family, mostly because I dont associate with them therefore I dont know much about them, and also my spanish side of the family, or my moms dad's family.

I am hoping to make a breakthru soon so I can order my family tree poster but I just wanted to see if maybe you all had websites or tips for family tree research?

So this may or may not be of any interest to you, buuuut I thought I would share a little bit of a big part in our lives.

We love it and recently went to a local event put on by our fellow Elk Grovians.

CrossFit 916

CrossFit is an intense workout, It focus's on both cardio improvement and strength training.

It's hard friggin work! But totally worth it. I never thought I would be doing pull-ups, let alone multiple pull-ups or even being able to lift the amount of weight that I do. I crazy love it haha.

I figured it was time to share my list of things that I want to accomplish before my birthday. Some are the same as last time, but I wrote my list late. This time I have the whole year practically. So here it goes, with some explanations, updates and examples...

1. Complete a Toy Society drop (This is almost done, I just need to figure out where to leave it)
2. Make a quilt (started, but I need to finish cutting out the pieces)
3. Get my passport (Filled out the application, I just need pics and the extra money)
4. Read 27 new books (Only 3 done, started the 4th)
5. Get another fur baby (I have plans for a bunny)
6. Sew an item of clothing for myself
7. Have a real photo shoot (This would be better after #9 is completed)
8. Go on a vacation
9. Get in shape (I'm working on it. The contest at work starts March 7)
10. Play with clay (Like wet clay on a wheel, I miss it)
11. Design and buy a fabric from Spoonflower
12. Go sky diving
13. Buy a hoodie from MungoCrafts
14. Swim in the Pacific (At the end of my life I would like to say I've been in every ocean)
15. Learn a new skill (I have plans to go to a welding class)
16. Make a dish from each of my cookbooks (I currently have 48, but some are cookie books or Christmas food gift ideas, so I don't think those count.)
17. Finish one house project from start to finish (I've started moving my craft room)
18. Get something published (I have no idea where this came from)
19. Get a new tattoo (I have a new idea for one, but also a rib piece planned)
20. Give blood (This should be happening in March with The Monster)
21. Visit one of the places in my planner (A list that includes the Alameda Antique fair and some thrift/fabric stores in my area)
22. Do something drastic with my hair (A new color? I'd like to chop it all off)
23. Make a friend (This sounds so sad! Haha, I just would like one in California that I can hang out with, besides The Monster)
24. Ride a horse (I miss you ponies!)
25. Set up my vintage shop on Etsy and make a sale (I signed up for the account and took all the pictures, I just need to write all the descriptions)
26. Do a pull-up (This WILL happen!)
27. Plant a garden (We moved the garden location this year and it's going to be bigger)

So that's about it. Nothing too ambitious so that I can't complete it but,some are stretching it for me which is good for personal growth. Wish me luck!

Sweetie Pancakes

Hello Bloggies!

I wanted to share with you a recipe I came up with awhile ago when I was craving random foods.

In our house we dont eat processed food. Which means nothing in a box or bag or jar.

If you walk into a store, you pretty much stay on the outside isles of the store, which means lots of meat, fruits and veggies. I am not much of a sweets person, and i hate cake, so this is weird for me. Just be warned, these are super sweet!

Once in awhile, I want some very bad for you food.

Shhhh, dont tell :)

(keep in mind, most of this is processed except the eggs, oopsie hehe)

I call these,

The Monsters Sweetie Pancakes

What you'll need:

2 eggs, separate the egg whites from the yolks, you only need the egg whites.

1 1/2 cups of all purpose flour

3 1/2 tsp. of baking powder, 1 tsp salt

1 tbs. sugar

3 tbs. butter

& 1 1/4 cups of milk

Extras:

Brown Sugar

Oats

Walnuts

Directions:

♥Beat egg whites until they are white and fluffy and form stiff peaks.

♥Mix all dry ingredients

♥Add milk and butter to dry ingredients, dont over mix, you want the batter lumpy

♥Gently fold in the beaten egg whites.

WAH-LA, you now have super fluffy homemade pancake mix!

Now scoop and pour into a preheated pan

Now for the extras part!!!

So if your feeling extra bad and fatty, then add these ingredients right after your pour your mix into the pan.

Sprinkle in some brown sugar

add some oats

Add some walnuts, and when the pancake is ready, flip that baby over and top it with your favorite toppings.

Then wash it all down with a nice big cup of coffee, We prefer It's A Grind, because unlike other major coffee companies, It's A Grind actually has good, non burnt coffee.

Hope this post wont give you sugar convulsions.

Has it really been this long since an obsessed post, wow! So I think being a child of the 80's is what probably influenced this obsession. I love rainbows! Really, it's kind of ridiculous how much I like rainbows, or rainbow colored items, and arranging things in rainbow order. I get borderline OCD about it sometimes, like with my colored pencils, don't even ask! I think it all started with this character-

I just wanted to share some recent photos. Yesterday I went snowboarding with my brother and a few friends at Northstar at Tahoe.

I have been an avid snowboarder for about 10-12 years now. I'm not pro or anything but I really enjoy it. Wakeboarding also.

I have more pics but they aren't really that cool. haha. I was focusing on having fun and snowboarding rather then taking many pictures.

I know it’s been while since you’ve heard from me here and on my blog too. I’ve just been blah because some of the projects I’ve been working on didn’t turn out as awesome as I had hoped. Bummer. Plus, I feel super busy all the time even though I’m probably not. :o)
I just need to learn balance a little better I think, and then hopefully I can get everything on track.

Easy Holiday Garland D.I.Y

Hello Lovies!

We came up with a super cheap, super easy, and super fun Holiday D.I.Y for you!

A Holiday Garland

What you will need:

Green, Red, & White Felt. A needle and thread, or a sewing machine. I went with embroidery thread rather then a sewing machine, I wanted a bigger stitch but it's totally up to you and what you prefer.

Step One:

Print the Holiday Garland template

Holiday Garland

Step Two:

Cut out the circles from the template and trace onto your felt

then cut out all of your circles so they are ready for you when you begin to put everything together

Step Three:

Begin stitching your circle pieces together in any order you'd like. I used 24 circles total to complete my garland.

Wah-La! Now you have a cute little garland to hang in your home, or you could even use it for some kooky gift wrapping.

This project costs about $3, so it wont break the bank and its super easy to do.

We thought we would do a Show & Tell Thursday about our recent Disneyland and CA Adventures Trip.

So, We checked into our resort and our room number was 1313 on the 13th floor. Only to discover we were going to Disneyland on the 13th and we were taking the number 13 elevator. I was a tad bit put off by this but in the end we had a wonderful time. (and nothing bad happened)

D-day, time for D-land!!!

We are so excited!!!! We're leaving bright and early tomorrow morning for DISNEYLAND!!!!
The Monster's younger sister is 20 and has NEVER been to Disneyland! Heck, Cassidy hasn't been since middle school! The best part about all of this is it's HALLOWEEN TIME!!!!

We love love looooove Halloween, it's our first favorite holiday. We'll be gone from tomorrow until Friday. We're going to Disneyland for one day and to California Adventure for another day. We're going to take tons of pictures and collect autographs and get mickey ears and totally cheese out and have an awesome family time. We'll be sure to post pictures when we get back. Try not to be toooo jealous. :o)

Soooo, Kristin and I have been talking over the last few months about putting some ideas together for a Craft Supply Swap. We also briefly discussed it with Amy and Jaymi.

We both have so much extra craft supplies that we dont use, and would love to put something together where we can have a small pick and pull party in our backyard.

Yes, we live in Elk Grove, and not too many people are fond of it, trust us, we know how boring it is here. But if we did put a Craft Supply Swap together here, you would NOT be disappointed.

There would be food and drinks, music and tons of great people and awesome craft supplies.

So I'm not really sure where we've been.
Okay, I mean I knoooow where we've been but I'm not sure where the breakdown is between us and our blog. We've been filling A LOT of Etsy orders. All of our back stock was exhausted so we've been making all of our chalkboard orders one at a time which takes more time than usual. We had a friend's wedding to attend to, a family vacation to go on, a yard sale to have, and some kids to babysit.
The Monster hasn't really been on the computer too much, she's been working on other projects and she's the one who usually keep this blog updated. I guess I'm going to have to start pulling my weight on here. :o)

Sorry guys, we sort of took July off as an unofficial vacation. I went out of town, we didn't do second Saturday (or any shows for that matter) and we closed up the Etsy shop, and sort of neglected our blog (sorry!). Have no fear! It gets personal

Hello loves

I wanted to share with you all some personal things that have been going on in my life. It may explain the lack of creativity and blogging on here.

About two months ago I lost my job and have been job hunting ever since. It is hard out there and I still have had no luck. The biggest thing is that my boyfriend of a little over 3 years is gone. Well we are no longer together. It's over. I am still in shock and completely devastated. He was my whole entire world and I loved him so much. He ended up just not being happy with me so now its all gone and over with. It has been extremely hard on me. I have been trying to stay busy but its hard when i literally have no friends and no one to hang out with. Especially not having a job to keep me occupied. I have never wanted a job so badly in my life. I cant eat, I cant sleep and I've lost more weight within the past week then I should have.

My days are getting easier and im not so much as sad, but trying to fill this giant void in my heart seems impossible. I know he doesnt want me back in his life and I have to accept that. I want him to be happy.

So if you have any suggestions to cope with this that would be awesome. Also if you are local I could really use some new friends and new memories. I am an easy going person and am down to do mostly anything, even if its just sitting around watching movies.

Thanks for all of your support and your love. I love our blog we have here and I hope that soon I will be able to get back to some awesome blogging. I have been trying to keep myself off of the internet because it is too tempting to look at his flickr and websites so i have been staying away from the internet.

Weekend Wonders (and weight loss)

Hello lovelies!

We just wanted to share with you some photos from our weekend. Saturday we were at 2nd Sat. Park your art, this was our second time there and we had a blast, we got to sit next to Jaymi and Amy so we chatted it up. Super cute ladies :) I sold all of my monster stuffies, all of them! So i better get on the ball and make some more cuteness.

Kristin and I have decided to make a deal, we are both going to try to loose 10lbs before the next Park your art show next month. Maybe even more. I am ready to loose this fatness and get my butt in gear so this is a great slow goal for us. Slowly but surely it will all come off. So by the time you see us next, we will be a little bit lighter hehe.

I didn't really take any pics of the table this time but here are some other weekend photos.

Wow, it's been a while..Sorry! Some of you out there may or may not like this post but all I ask is for you to not judge. LOL!

I am goo goo for GaGa! There really isn't a lot to say about this chick. I know some people think she's freakin' weird and some people just down right hate her. I however, think she is great! I love the fact that she can go out of the house with a lobster on her head or wear the craziest pants-less outfits out there. Good for her! More people should take a page out of her book and not be afraid to be themselves. Besides all that, I love her music. It makes me wanna dance!

'nuff said.

I just wanted to share some photos of the weekend.

We did the Elk Grove's First Friday and next Saturday we will be doing 2nd Sat. Park your art. So excited, 2md saturdays are always so fun, although we have only done it once haha.

Like i said, we have waaaaaay more stuff then we have listed on our Etsy

I also posted a post on my personal blog about fitness, and i would appreciate any suggestions you may have. If you feel like it haha.

Maybe i will do a fitness post on here this week? Instrested?

We have a craft event tomorrow so if you are local you should stop by.

Elk Grove's First Friday event is going to be hoppin!

The local shops stay open late, there are tons of vendors and yummy foods to snag. Theres going to be live music and tons more.

Come stop by and check us out. We have way more stuff then whats in our shop. We are going to be parked out in front of Zacks furniture

It starts at 5pm and ends at 9pm

Hope everyone had an awesome 3 day weekend, i know i did, it was full of doing nothing and relaxing.

Anywho, have you heard of Indie Mart? Well i have never been to one but there is one in San Fran this weekend and I want to go on Sunday. I hear its super awesome.

I really want to go see Polka Dot Robot's booth. She is, well they are super cute and have fab stuff.
